02ROUTE INFO

Best Route to Mumbai Airport

The expressway is the predictable part. Your arrival time is decided by the last 40 km.

Primary Route (via Mumbai-Pune Expressway):

Pune
Lonavala
Khopoli
Panvel
CSMIA
DISTANCE
159 km
DURATION
about 3h
ROAD TYPE
6-lane

Road condition: India's first 6-lane concrete expressway, 94.5 km of excellent road quality with regular rest stops. Total door-to-terminal distance is about 159 km. On an airport run we usually skip the Lonavala stop entirely, since the whole point is to arrive with time in hand. The old NH4/NH48 via Panvel is slower at 4 to 5 hours and we use it only if the expressway is closed.

Key stops & landmarks

1

The expressway, Pune to Panvel

0-120 km

The predictable part. Two toll plazas, a well-lit carriageway and a drive that barely varies by time of day. If your trip runs late, it is almost never this stretch that caused it.

2

Panvel to the Vashi bridge

120-145 km

Where an airport run is won or lost. At 8 to 11 AM and again 5 to 9 PM this stretch alone can add 45 minutes, which is precisely what the buffer in our timings is for.

3

Sion, Kurla and the terminal approach

Final 15 km

The last leg into Andheri East. The driver picks the approach based on your terminal, because T1 at Santacruz and T2 at Sahar are entered from different sides.

Travel Tips:

Give us the flight number

Not just the time. With the flight number we can see a schedule change or a delay before you do, and shift the pickup rather than leave you waiting at your gate.

Work backwards, not forwards

Tell us when you need to be at the terminal and we set the pickup from that. Four and a half hours door to door for a domestic departure, five and a half for international.

Count the bags honestly

Four people with four large check-in bags do not fit a sedan. An extra ₹1,000 for the SUV is cheaper than a second cab at 3 AM.

Monsoon adds an hour

June to September, add sixty minutes for the ghat section and the Mumbai city roads. Book the earlier slot and wait at the terminal instead.

The Mumbai-Pune expressway through the ghats

The expressway through the ghats, the reliable two thirds of an airport run.

Pune to Mumbai airport cab time

A cab takes about 3 hours to cover 159 km from Pune to CSMIA, which is why we plan a domestic departure four and a half hours door to door.

The extra ninety minutes is not padding. It covers the Panvel to Vashi stretch and the terminal approach, the two parts of this trip that actually vary.

Mumbai Airport Terminal Drop Guide

Mumbai's airport is CSMIA, and its two terminals are 5 km apart on opposite sides of the runway. Getting this right at the booking stage matters more than anything else on this page.

Terminal 2 at Sahar handles all international departures and a large share of domestic ones. Terminal 1 at Santacruz is domestic only. They are entered from different roads, and there is no walking between them, so a driver who takes you to the wrong one has cost you 20 to 30 minutes and a shuttle ride.

We do not publish an airline-to-terminal list here, and that is deliberate. It changes: Akasa moved to T2 in August 2026, and IndiGo and SpiceJet fly from both. A stale list on a booking page is worse than no list. Check the Mumbai airport terminal guide for the current picture, or tell us your flight number and we confirm it for you.

Terminal 2

At Sahar, reached from the elevated road. Every international departure leaves from here, along with a large share of domestic ones, so this is where most of our drops go. Departures are on the upper level and the driver takes you up.

Terminal 1

At Santacruz, domestic only, and approached off the Western Express Highway through Vile Parle. A different road entirely from T2, which is exactly why the terminal has to be settled before the car leaves Pune rather than near Mumbai.

How Our Terminal Drop Works

The driver confirms your airline and terminal at pickup, not on the Sahar flyover. If your airline has moved terminals since you booked, we would rather find that out in Pune. Travelling as a group on different airlines? We can drop at both on one trip, planned around the earlier departure.

Terminal 2 at Mumbai airport

Terminal 2 at Sahar, where all international departures leave from.

Landing rather than leaving?

The return leg is our Mumbai Airport to Pune cab. We track the flight, so a delayed landing does not cost you the car, and the driver waits at the terminal exit with a name board.

Book both legs together and it is one booking, one fare and the same driver details for the trip out and the trip home.

Send the flight number and we work the pickup time backwards from it. Plan my transfer

04WHY CABSPUNE

Why Book Mumbai Airport Cab with CabsPune?

Most of our drivers run this route three or four times a week. They know every rest stop, every toll booth and exactly which lane to take at the Mumbai entry.

A CabsPune driver at the wheel

Airport-Specific Timing Expertise

Our drivers know when the airport approach clogs up. We suggest a departure time that fits your flight schedule, terminal, and the day of the week, so you reach with time to spare. Give us the flight number and we work the pickup backwards from it.

Terminal-Specific Drop Service

We drop you at the right terminal entrance, whether that is Terminal 1 at Santacruz or Terminal 2 at Sahar. The driver confirms your airline and terminal before setting off, because the two are entered from different sides of the airport.

24/7 Early Morning & Night Pickups

Catching a 6 AM flight or a red-eye out? We do early morning and late night pickups, no problem. Our drivers are on call round the clock, even at midnight or 3 AM. A 25% night charge applies between 11 PM and 6 AM and is quoted before you book.

No Hidden Airport Charges

Clear pricing with no surge charges. Expressway toll is in the fare and airport entry is free. Pune to Mumbai Airport cab rates stay fixed whatever the time of day, and the quote is confirmed in writing before the car leaves.

05FLIGHT PLANNING

What Time to Leave Pune for Your Flight

Work backwards from the departure time, never forwards from when you feel like leaving.

YOUR FLIGHT DEPARTS LEAVE PUNE BY TRAFFIC NOTES
6:00-9:00 AM flight 1:00-4:00 AM CLEAR Empty expressway and an empty city. The fastest run of the day and our single most booked airport slot.
9:00 AM-1:00 PM flight 4:00-8:00 AM LIGHTEST Set off before 5 and you clear the Panvel to Vashi stretch before it builds. After 6, allow the full buffer.
1:00-6:00 PM flight 8:00 AM-1:00 PM MODERATE You cross the Mumbai entry mid-morning. Comfortable, but this is not the leg to shave twenty minutes off.
6:00-11:00 PM flight 12:00-5:00 PM MODERATE Most international departures sit here, and so does the 5 to 9 PM city peak. Take the earlier pickup.

These are terminal times, not landing times

Every figure in the table gets you to the kerb with the standard buffer already counted: two hours before a domestic departure, three before international. If your airline has asked you to report earlier, or you are checking in bulky baggage or travelling on a Friday evening, tell us and we move the pickup up. We would rather you waited at the terminal than on the Sahar flyover.

The 3 AM pickup is the normal one here

Most Mumbai departures out of Pune leave in the small hours, and that is the easiest version of this trip: an empty expressway and an empty city. A 25% night charge applies to pickups between 11 PM and 6 AM and is quoted before you book. Compare the options on our Pune to Mumbai cab page if you are heading into the city instead.

06SERVICE & BOOKING

Pune to Mumbai airport cab service: fares, sharing and booking

The questions people ask us most, answered before you pick up the phone.

Pune to Mumbai airport cab fare and taxi price

The Pune to Mumbai airport taxi fare and the cab fare are one and the same with us. A sedan is ₹2,500 to ₹2,800 for a one-way terminal drop, an SUV ₹3,500 to ₹4,200, and a 12-17 seater tempo traveller ₹7,500 to ₹8,500. Book the return pickup on the same reservation and the pair costs less than two separate one-ways. Driver, fuel and both expressway toll plazas are inside the fare, and there is no separate airport surcharge.

Is a Pune to Mumbai airport shared cab available?

We run private cabs, not shared rides, and on an airport run the maths favours private more than usual. A sedan is ₹2,500 for up to 4 passengers, about ₹625 a head. A shared cab also means shared timing, and a co-passenger's late start is not a risk worth taking when you have a flight to catch. You get your own car, the pickup set to your departure, door-to-door service and room for the luggage.

Which is the cheapest cab from Pune to Mumbai airport?

Our sedan, a Swift Dzire or Etios, at ₹2,500 one way, including driver, fuel and both toll plazas. Unlike app-based outstation cabs, which can charge ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 with surge at exactly the hours flights leave, our rate stays fixed. Just be honest about the luggage first: four people with four check-in bags need the SUV, and finding that out at 3 AM is an expensive way to save ₹1,000.

How to book a cab from Pune to Mumbai airport

Send your pickup address, the date, your flight number and terminal, and the vehicle you want, by call, WhatsApp or the form on this page. The flight number is the one detail worth getting right: it lets us see a delay or a schedule change before you do. We confirm within 2 minutes and share the driver details ahead of pickup. Door-to-door pickup across Pune and PCMC is included, and only a minimal advance is payable upfront. Step-by-step help is in our guide to booking a cab in Pune.

Cab vs Bus vs Train: Pune to Mumbai Airport

For an airport run the comparison is not really close. Bus and train both drop you in the city, so you still need a Mumbai taxi with your bags at the far end, at the exact hour that is hardest to find one. ₹2,500 split between 4 people is about ₹625 each, terminal to door, with no transfer at either end. The full breakdown is in our cab vs train vs bus comparison.

MODE COST TIME DOOR TO DOOR LUGGAGE NOTES
Cab (CabsPune) ₹2,500 total, up to 4 people 3h door to terminal Yes Flexible Fixed price including toll, terminal drop, flight tracking and 60 minutes of waiting
Bus + local transfer ₹500-700 per person, plus transfer 4.5-5.5h No Limited Drops in the city, not at the terminal; you still need a Mumbai taxi with your bags
Train + local transfer ₹400-500 per person, plus transfer 4.5-5h No Very limited Fixed timings, and CSMT or Dadar to the airport at rush hour is its own gamble
Self-drive Fuel + toll ≈ ₹2,000, plus parking 3h Yes Flexible Airport parking runs ₹100/hr at T2; a three-day trip costs more than the cab did
07FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our Pune to Mumbai cab service. Something not covered? Call or WhatsApp and we will answer straight away.

Talk to us
How much does a cab from Pune to Mumbai Airport cost?

A Pune to Mumbai Airport cab costs from ₹2,500 for a sedan, ₹3,500 for an SUV, and ₹7,500 for a tempo traveller (one-way). The rate is fixed with no surge pricing even for midnight pickups, and expressway toll is already in it. We confirm the final fare before you book, so there are no surprises at the end.

How long does it take to reach Mumbai Airport from Pune?

About 2.5 to 3 hours for the 159 km drive via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The airport (CSIA) sits just past the Vashi exit, before the main city, so it's actually a bit closer than Mumbai itself. During Mumbai peak hours (8-11 AM or 5-9 PM), add 30-45 minutes for the Vashi-to-airport stretch.

Do you provide service to both terminals at Mumbai Airport?

Yes, we drop at both Terminal 1 (select domestic airlines) and Terminal 2 (domestic and international flights) at Mumbai Airport. Share your airline name and flight number when you book, and the driver takes you to the right terminal entrance. International departures go to Terminal 2, Level 4.

Is shared cab available from Pune to Mumbai Airport?

CabsPune provides private Pune to Mumbai Airport drop cab service, not Pune to Mumbai Airport shared cab or sharing service. A private sedan at ₹2,500 split between 4 passengers works out to about ₹625 each. That's close to Pune to Mumbai Airport sharing cab service rates, but you get your own car, flexible timing, and a direct terminal drop.

How do I book Pune to Mumbai Airport cab?

To book your Pune to Mumbai Airport cab, call +91-88620-92781 or WhatsApp us with your flight details, pickup time, and location. We confirm in 2 minutes. Only a minimal advance is needed; you pay the driver directly after reaching the airport. Send your flight number too, so we can time the drop right for check-in.

Can I book a return cab from Mumbai Airport?

Yes, book a Pune to Mumbai Airport return cab along with your drop. For the return, use our Mumbai Airport to Pune cab service with flight tracking and arrivals pickup. Round trip booking is more economical than two separate one-way bookings.

What time should I leave Pune for my flight?

Leave 4-5 hours before a domestic flight and 5-6 hours before an international one. The drive takes 2.5-3 hours, plus 1.5-2 hours for check-in and security. We run 24/7, so for early morning flights (5-7 AM) book a midnight pickup; the empty expressway gets you there in about 2 hours.

Is Ola/Uber better than CabsPune for airport drop?

For outstation airport drops, CabsPune offers fixed rates (no surge), experienced expressway drivers, minimal advance, and guaranteed pickup. Ola/Uber rates can spike 2-3x during peak hours and you may get a driver unfamiliar with the expressway route. Our drivers do Pune-Mumbai runs daily and know every exit, toll booth, and shortcut.

Can I cancel my Pune to Mumbai Airport cab booking?

Yes. Cancel at least 2 hours before pickup and the advance is refunded in full. Just call or WhatsApp us before the driver leaves for your pickup. If the driver is already on the way, a fair charge for the distance driven may apply. Rescheduling to another date or time is always free.

Which Pune areas do you pick up from for the Pune to Mumbai Airport cab?

We pick up from every Pune and PCMC locality: Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner, Aundh, Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Magarpatta, Hadapsar, Koregaon Park, Pimple Saudagar and beyond. Door-to-door pickup is included in the fare. Just share your exact address while booking and the driver comes to you.

Do you run Pune airport to Mumbai cabs as well?

Yes. A Pune airport to Mumbai cab is a common booking, usually for people landing at Pune and continuing straight to Mumbai city or to a Mumbai hotel. Pune airport to Mumbai cabs and a Pune airport to Mumbai taxi are the same service from us, with the driver meeting you at the terminal exit with a name board. Share your flight number and we track the arrival, so a delayed landing does not cost you the car.

How does the Pune to Mumbai airport drop work?

For a Pune to Mumbai airport drop we pick you up from your address in Pune and take you directly to your terminal, T1 or T2. You tell us the flight time and we work the pickup backwards from it, allowing for the expressway and the Vashi approach. The Pune Mumbai airport drop is a one-way booking, so you pay only for the outbound run with no return charge.

Can I book a cab from Pune to Mumbai airport Terminal 2?

Yes, and it is worth naming the terminal when you book. A cab from Pune to Mumbai airport Terminal 2 goes to the international and full-service domestic terminal, while T1 handles other domestic flights. The two are several kilometres apart by road, so being dropped at the wrong one on a tight schedule is a genuine problem. Tell us T1 or T2 and the driver goes straight there.

Is a Pune to Mumbai international airport cab different from a domestic terminal drop?

Both. A Pune to Mumbai international airport cab drops at T2, which handles international flights and many full-service domestic ones. If you are flying domestic on a low-cost carrier you probably want T1 instead. If you are not sure which terminal your flight uses, send us the flight number and we will check it before the pickup.

Is a cab better than the bus from Pune to Mumbai airport?

For an airport run, usually yes, and the reason is timing rather than comfort. Buses to Mumbai airport run to a fixed schedule and drop you at a set point, so you build in a large buffer and then a local transfer at the other end. A cab leaves when you need it to, goes door to terminal, and handles luggage. The bus is genuinely cheaper if you are travelling alone with time to spare. For two or more people, or any early-morning or late-night flight, the cab usually wins on both cost per head and stress.
