Toll on the expressway is collected by MSRDC. The car rate rose from ₹270 to ₹320 at the 18% revision effective 1 April 2023, applied cumulatively every three years under the government notification of 9 August 2004. Vehicles without FASTag are charged double. Battery electric vehicles registered in Maharashtra are exempt and pay ₹0 at both MSRDC plazas. Rates verified August 2026; check at the plaza if exactness matters to you.
The Two Toll Plazas on the Expressway
There are two toll plazas on the expressway itself, one at each end, and the ₹320 car toll covers the whole stretch between them. Plenty of guides list four or five plazas on this route. That happens because approach tolls near Mumbai get counted as part of the expressway when they are separate roads with separate operators.
1. Talegaon / Urse Toll Plaza (Pune end)
Location: Near Talegaon Dabhade, at the Pune end of the expressway
Also called: Urse toll plaza, after the village it sits beside

The same plaza appears as "Talegaon" or "Urse" depending on the source, which is one reason toll lists for this route disagree with each other.

Direction: Charged on the Mumbai to Pune run

Khalapur is the most searched plaza on the route, largely because it sits near the Lonavala and Khopoli exits where people stop.

Expressway Exit Points

Talegaon / Dehu Road (Km 0)
Pune end entry/exit. Connects to NH48 (Old Mumbai-Pune Highway). Use this for Pimpri-Chinchwad, Hinjewadi, Wakad.
Lonavala Exit (Km 55-58)
Exit for Lonavala, Khandala, Bhushi Dam, Tiger's Leap, Karla Caves. Take this one if Lonavala is your stop and you skip the Khandala toll.
Khopoli / Khalapur Exit (Km 78)
Exit for Khopoli, Adlabs Imagica, Karjat, Matheran base. Also connects to the old Mumbai-Pune road via NH48.
Panvel / Kalamboli (Km 94)
Mumbai end exit. From here: left for Navi Mumbai/Vashi/Thane, straight for Mumbai city via Sion-Panvel Highway, right for Mumbai-Goa Highway (Alibaug, Murud).
Important:
U-turns are not allowed on the expressway. If you miss your exit, continue to the next one and take the return lane. Emergency U-turn points exist but are only for police and emergency vehicles.

The Pune Mumbai Expressway starts at Dehu Road interchange near Pune and ends at Kalamboli interchange near Panvel. Access from Pune is via Katraj Tunnel or Dehu Road. From Mumbai, approach via Sion-Panvel Highway to Kalamboli junction.

No, two-wheelers (motorcycles, scooters) are NOT allowed on the Pune Mumbai Expressway. This ban applies to all vehicles under 150cc. Three-wheelers (autos) are also banned. Only four-wheelers and above can use the expressway. Two-wheelers must use the old Mumbai-Pune highway (NH48).
